Seaton is set at the mouth of the picturesque Axe Valley and is perfectly positioned for both coastal and countryside walks. It is also a very popular spot for birdwatchers, golfers, cyclists, fishermen and sailors.

The resort benefits from a completely flat, mile long esplanade that fronts a quiet shingle and sand beach. This is flanked by cliffs at either end, giving excellent views around the bay. Fully equipped beachfront bathing huts can be hired by the day or week from the local council.

Seaton itself has several local attractions including the famous Seaton Tramway that runs alongside the Axe estuary to the lovely villages of Colyford & Colyton. A very popular half-day trip for everyone young and old.

Golf, horse riding, water sports and of course fishing are all available locally. Seaton has it's own Tennis Court, Bowling Green and Putting Green. During the summer some extra amusements are provided for smaller children on the beach - i.e. a bouncy castle and go-carts.

The Lyme Bay Holiday Village opposite our holiday home offers day membership to the public for a minimal fee. Their facilities include an indoor swimming pool.

There are several excellent restaurants in the town, including traditional Fish and Chips; Chinese (Take-Away or Eat-In); Mediterranean; good quality Pub food and Hotel restaurants.

Our favourite restaurant is called "Rossini's" and is literally 39 steps from our front door! They are quite unusual in the fact that they encourage you to draw on the white, paper table cloths - they provide the wax crayons. Any budding artists will find their masterpieces pinned to the walls next time they visit! Rossini's do some excellent take-away pizzas.

A fairly large Co-Op is located off Harbour Road towards the town centre, within easy walking distance. It has its own car park and is open late into the evening.
There is a large Waitrose supermarket off the A3052 road (on the left) beyond Sidford & Sidmouth - about 10 miles from our house. There is also a large Tesco at Axminster – about 6 miles away.

Specialist Bakers, Butchers, Greengrocer’s etc. are located in the town centre, an easy 10-minute walk away. There are also a couple of Banks here (Lloyds etc.), a Post Office, Boots Chemist, Lloyds Dispensing Pharmacy & Woolworths etc.
